The flagging off exercise which was led by the Managing Director of the Board, Engineer Wada Mohammed Yahaya, and supported by other staff of the Board.
Leading a combined team of security personnel to a popular Abacha road, Mararaba sharp corner, Gurku junction and Heartplaza as well as Muhammadu Buhari International Market among others, the Managing Director, Nasarawa Urban Development Board, Engineer Wada Mohammed, said the exercise was to clear the highway where traffic gridlock is often experienced for free Vehicular moverment
According to him, the exercise was in line with the state government’s effort towards transforming the Urban centres across the state, stressing that the board under his supervision is determined to actuallize the dream of making Nasarawa state a place to reckon with, calling for support to enable him succeed.
Engineer Wada, lamented the way and manners of some traders who usually trade along the highway and vehicles that parked indiscriminately thereby causing unusual hardship and advised commuters to always park at the designated areas to avoid creating traffic gridlock particularly in Mararaba and Masaka and Ado Junction.
Wada, further explained that the exercise was to sensitize the public particularly, business owners and commuters, maintaining that the board would embark on total enforcement of the exercise to ensure compliance.
The Managing Director then commended Governor Abdulahi Sule for supporting the board to carried out it’s statutory responsibility and solicited same support from all to enable the board succeed.
The Nigerian standard observed that some business owners had an encounter with the enforcement team which led to their arrest by the security operatives.
