COVID-19: Ebonyi sets up virology laboratory centre for southeast, south-south

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has said his government is set to establish a virology laboratory centre, which will serve the entire south eastern Nigeria as well as the south-south and even some parts of the north central.
The governor made this disclosure at a press briefing in Abakaliki on Tuesday, March 24 where he revealed that the Ebonyi centre is to complement the one in Edo State.
According to him, “Only three centres are presently doing the testing in Nigeria – Abuja, Lagos and Edo. When ours comes up by 1st of April, 2020, it shall serve South East and South South and even North Central.”
