…as Governor Lalong vow to deal with perpetrators

Not less than thirteen persons have been reportedly killed in a renew attack on Kulbe village in Kombun district of Mangu local government area of Plateau State in last night attack.

The attack which was allegedly carried out by Fulani herdsmen on the community by 6pm on Wednesday also left four people with various degrees of injury.

As at the time of filling in the report, sources have it that security agencies have been drafted to the area and seven person arrested in connection with the attack.

Reacting to the ugly development in the state, the Plateau State governor, Simon Bako Lalong, condemned, in strong terms, the killing and vowed to go tough with the perpetrators.

In a statement by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Simon Macham, Lalong described the attack as another attempt to puncture the peace that has gradually returned to the state.

While commiserating with victims and families of the deceased, the governor warned that his administration will not sit down and watch any group or individuals cause chaos in the state, and return it to the dark days of insecurity.

He said “We have toiled to ensure peace returns to Plateau State and we will not allow anyone to make nonsense our efforts. We are determined to deal decisively and firmly with anybody found culpable in attacking or inciting people to carry out attacks against one another”.

He commended security agencies for arresting seven suspects connected to the killings, and for restoring normalcy to the area.

He assured that thorough investigations would be carried out to get to the bottom of the matter as anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the law.

The governor called for calm and advised against reprisals as government is dealing with the situation.
