In a bid to making the youth job-creators instead of job-seekers, especially in information and communication technology (ICT), a Christian religious body, the Palace of Glory International Churches (POGIC) is organising an economic empowerment digitalized campaign for the young people in and around the Federal Capital Territory.
Speaking with our correspondent, the lead pastor, Dr. Good Mishel said the initiative is to foster talents in the lives of young Nigerians who are gifted in the areas of ICT, online digital marketing etc.
Misheal said the empowerment programme is also geared towards discovering, building and harnessing talents in over 10,000 youths.
His words: “The world in which we live in, is a computer world, so this programme is organised as a result of discovering and empowering youths who are yet to find their feat in ICT.
“So many Nigerian youths with great talents are roaming the streets day and night jobless with little or no idea on how to go about developing their in-borne talents and skills”, he said.
The two-day programme is segmented into two sessions, as follows; the 1st session from 7am-1pm while the 2nd session starts from 1pm – 2pm. The 2nd second session commences from 2pm – 5pm.
Meanwhile, the two-day programme is as follows; 8am – 12noon and 3pm – 6pm with a break and free lunch inclusive, admission to participate in the programme is free of charge.
The event is scheduled to hold from 1st – 2nd August, 2020 at the POGIC auditorium by LEA Primary School, Pigba Sama, near Apo Mechanic Village, Abuja.
