Governor David Umahi Friday night announced another two cases of Covid-19 in Ebonyi State bringing the number of Covid-19 case in the State to seven.
The Governor explained that the new cases were a 26 year old man with his wife who is 19, both from Ezza Inyimagu in Izzi Local government area of the state who returned from Oji River in Enugu State.
The Governor announced: “The man is 26 years old and the wife who is 19 years old.
“Both are from Ezza Inyimegu in Ekwunegu Community in Izzi LGA.
“They reside at Orji River in Enugu State. “The man sales phone accessories.
“They were brought to Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki on Tuesday the 5th of May, 2020 of which samples were collected and tested. The results came out today Friday, 8th, and were positive .
“They have been moved to the treatment center.”
The Governor however, assured Ebonyians that there was no cause for alarm as Government is on top of the situation .
He encouraged Ebonyians to do everything possible to identify all indigenes who sneak into the State so that they could be taken to the isolation centres for needed attention.

He emphasized that Covid-19 was not a death sentence but needed to be given attention on time.
The Governor further expressed gratitude to God for the wisdom and strategy adopted in the State which he described as very unique in combating Covid-19 .
While appreciating all those who are committed to the assignment of fighting the pandemic, he further explained that earlier cases currently on treatments were responding.
According to him, they would be subjected to two other sets of tests which if consistently negative , they would be discharge accordingly.
“Let us continue to be prayerful and be our brothers keeper”, Umahi cautioned.
