Senator Adamu

The National Assembly has pledged its determination to continue to synergize with the executive arm of government in making quality and popular laws that would help in the fight against the dreaded to guarantee the good health and safety of Nigerians, Senator Abdullahi Adamu who represents Nasarawa West said.

He further revealed that, the National Assembly as a body and also individual members would continue to do their best in the provision of the necessary complimentary supports and encouragement to make the fight against the disease a success.

Senator Adamu gave the assurance while playing guest in a political programme of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service Keffi station (Dandalin Siyasa) monitored in Keffi during the week.

According to him, since the existence of the disease has been established and all doubting thomases cleared, therefore the need for synergy between all arms of government and relevant stakeholders has become highly imperative so as to get rid of it and live healthy and free.

Senator Adamu further assured that on their parts as legislators they would continue to do the needful in providing the desired support to the best of their abilities and then tasked all Nigerians to own the process by providing all the necessary support as mark of social responsibilities.

The elder statesman then commended the Nigeria health workers and other supporting staff for what he described as highly professionals and patriotism in saving the lives of many Nigerians that contacted the disease and tasked them to continue to do more as part of their national duties.

The legislator who used the occasion to also commend the various media organizations across the country for enlightening the citizens about the disease, appealed to them to continue to do their best especially in the areas of taking precautionary measures by the people.

To the members of the public, the Senator advised them to always adhere strictly to the words of caution provided to them by the healthcare practitioners adding that they should endeavour to imbibe good hygiene practices like constant hand washing, social distancing, wearing of face mask among others as preventive measures against the disease.

Speaking on the ban on social and religious gatherings, he advised the citizens to stay at home. The lawmaker who is the first Executive Governor of Nasarawa State urged the people to comply with the order since it was meant to guarantee their safety and good health.

On the efforts being made by President Muhammadu Buhari in containing the disease, Senator Adamu described it as commendable one and urged all well-meaning Nigerians to support him so as to collectively win the war against the dreaded diseases.
