A passionate appeal has gone to the Nasarawa State Government on the need to consider the construction of Garaku-Dari-Amba-Bassa road and Garaku-Angwan Takwa-Moroa roads in its roads developmental project.
This according to the Kokona Local Government Chairman Hon. Saidu Kurki it has become imperative in view of the need to harness the abundant agricultural, human and material resources the said places were endowed with.
He spoke to newsmen in his office at Garaku, the headquarters of the local government during the week about the desire to open-up the areas for an effective communications and other socio-economic activities that would impact positively on the lives of the people, the local government and the State as a whole.
The Chairman who lamented that the people of the affected areas have been without access roads for long despite the abundant potentialities they were blessed with especially for their remarkable contributions in agriculture, human resources and the general socio-economic development of the area and the State.
He therefore believed that the construction of their roads would not only wipe their tears but encourage them to do more especially in the areas of Agriculture and other areas of human endeavour.
Kurki who expressed the optimism that the State’s government would listen to their request and act accordingly, assured of their continued support and co-operations to enable it succeed.
On its parts, the Chairman assured that the local government is working hard to justify the confidence reposed on it by the people of the area through the initiation and execution of various developmental projects and programmes like rural feeder roads, water supplies to the rural communities, healthcare delivery services, and agricultural development among others.
He however appealed to the people of his local government to continue to remain peaceful and law abiding with a view to continue to attract government projects, programmes and patronage.
