The chairman of Kokona local government council of Nasarawa State, Hon.

Saidu Kazi Kurki has expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by the people of his area as regards the partial lockdown imposed in the whole state by the state government to curtail the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

Speaking with newsmen in his office recently after visiting various places to ascertain the level of compliance by the people, the chairman stated that his people have given their needed support and cooperation to the directives of the state government.

He stated that already the state government has ordered the closure of various market, crowded places, worship centers, and social gathering, clubs among others as stated in the directives as part of efforts to checkmate the spread of the deadly virus.

Hon. Kurki who prayed for the non-emergence of the disease in the area and the state as well as recovery for those affected, however advised the people to always adopt hygiene measures like hand washing, general environmental cleanliness among others with a view to stay safe and healthy.

According to him, the committee inaugurated in the said aspect was also mandated to educate and enlighten the people on the dangers of the virus.

While expressing his gratitude to the state government under the leadership of Engineer Abdullahi Alhaji Sule for his efforts in providing palliative measures to the people especially for the most vulnerable members of the society, he assured that justice and fairness would be strictly applied in the distribution of the relief materials supply.

Hon. Kurki then commended the people of the area for their compliance and law abiding attributes, saying that such is highly desirable in the on-going fight against the deadly Coronavirus.
