Ebonyi State government as announced by the Governor, has declared seven days fasting and prayer, from 25th March to 1st April, 2020, between 6am and 6pm daily, to seek God’s intervention in stemming the scourge.
The governor made this known at a press briefing on the deadly Coronavirus held in Abakaliki on Tuesday, 24 March where he urged all Ebonyians and residents to join in the prayer in their private endeavors while the leaders of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) shall lead in the closing through the State Electronic Media, Ebonyi Broadcasting Service (EBBC).
According to him, “We must pray and fast, but if we do not observe the rules, we will be doing a disservice to ourselves, families and the society.
“God requires us to be wise in times like this.
“There is no need to fear as our government is doing everything possible to protect our people” Umahi concluded.
