The chairman of kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Hon. Saidu K. Kurki has urged the three sons of Mada community in Sabon Gida who were turbaned with traditional titles by the Chun Mada of the community, Mr. Yakubu Peter, to live above board and proved their positions as leaders by ensuring that they keep eyes to what will attract development to the community.
The deputy chairman of the council, Hon. Ahmed Musa Agbawu who represented the chairman at the occasion, held at Sabon Gida, at the weekend, said the role of traditional title holders cannot be over-emphasized as they are the custodian of culture of the people, and their roles make it easy for government to interface with the people.
He assured them of better relationship, synergy that will create impact in unifying and promoting their socio-cultural heritage.
On the aspect of commissioning an extension of Remoni Hotel in Sabon Gida built by one of the turbaned chiefs, Gowon Danladi Buzu, the chairman said, “The commissioning of the extension of this hotel will not only help the people of this community but the entire people of the local government, the state and the country at large. I want to use this medium to urge other privilege people of this local government to emulate Chief Gowon’s gesture of always coming to the aid of his people at all times”.
The chairman of the occasion, Mr Emmanuel Gamu Yari also gave accolade on the chief executive officer of Remoni Hotels Limited.
On his part, the newly coroneted Turakin Mada, Chief Gowon Danladi who spoke on behalf of other title holders; Mr. Victor S.B Akawu Mpani (Waziri Mada), and Mr. Adamu Ancho (Garkuwa Mada) thanked the Chun Mada of Sabon Gida for finding them worthy of the titles, assuring the entire community and Kokona of their readiness to always contribute their quota when the need arises.
