David West being brought into the court by SARS operatives

On Tuesday, October 22, the Port Harcourt suspected serial killer, Gracious David West was brought to court on the 10 count murder charges leveled against him by the Nigeria Police Force.

While standing trial amidst tight security, the suspect threatened some photojournalists who were taking snapshot of him. This made the journalists to take their shots from a relative distance instead of coming close to him.

His words: “If I see you snap me again, I will scatter that phone.”

Meanwhile, Gracious David West pleaded guilty to nine out of the 10 counts charges.

“I did not kill the last one at the hotel in Bende Street. I only tied her hands and legs because I am a Christian. I am telling the court the truth, because I want you to forgive me.”

The suspect alleged that police is holding his N60,000, wristwatch and necklace, and demanded that the items be returned to him.

The presiding judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, ordered that accused be remanded in prison custody, because he remains not guilty in eyes of the law.
