Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, on Wednesday, October 16, paid a visit to the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr.

Abhay Thakur, in Abuja, to seek a partnership with the Indian government on how to establish an assembling plant of electric mode automobiles. Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze made this known.

Umahi stated that electric mode automobile is a technology that saves cost, and revealed his key interest in the partnership to include importation of the sample electric powered tricycles, buses, motorcycles and cars as well as establishment of the assembly plant.

The governor also sought to partner with India in the management of the Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital, currently under construction. He said his interest is to ensure the teaching hospital serves the people of the state and Nigeria at large; not for financial benefits alone.

On his part, the Indian High Commissioner, Mr. Abhay Thakur thanked Governor David Umahi for coming and promised to ensure work out ways for the partnership to succeed.
